 MATERIALS

(2) 4“ x 15.5“ (10×40 cm) pieces red cotton fabric
(1) 3“ x 15.5“ (7.5×40 cm) piece pink cotton fabric
(1) 12“ x 17“ (30×44 cm) piece blue cotton fabric
(1) 13“ x 18“ (33×46 cm) piece Vliesofix (Bondaweb)
12“ zipper
Ric rac lace, approx. 34“ long
Tassel
Using a 1/4″ seam, sew together the three fabric pieces as shown below.

Attach the ric rac ribbon to both seams, as shown below.
Your piece should look like this:
Place the blue fabric, wrong side down, on the rough side of the Bondaweb piece and iron on, using the manufacturers instructions. Make sure not to touch the edge.
 Trim off the excess Bondaweb.
Turn the piece over and iron again, including the edge.
 Remove the backing paper.
Place the red and pink piece wrong side down, on the coated side of the blue fabric and iron on, using the manufacturers instructions. Again make sure not to touch the edge.
Trim off the blue fabric excess and iron again, including the edge.

Your piece should look like this:
Trim off the piece fairly close to the edge using a zigzag rotary cutter.

With the wrong side up, line up and pin the narrow edge of the piece to the edge of the zipper as shown below, with the zipper pull at the left.
Sew with a 1/4″ seam allowance using a zipper foot.
Your piece should look like this:
Fold the piece and repeat the above steps to attach it to the zipper. Turn around.
Your piece should look like this:
Open the zipper and topstitch fairly close to the seam, using a standard foot .
Close the zipper again and mark both top corners as shown below, measuring 1.5″ from the zipper to the top edge.
Flip the piece over and slide the zipper pull to the middle to create the turning hole. Fold it on the mark and pin. Sew together using a 1/4″ seam allowance. Important: sew back and forth across the zipper a few times to stabilize it.

Trim the zipper fairly close to the edge.
Fold the bottom corners to make a triangle and pin. Make sure the fabric is flat and the side seam runs down the center of the triangle.
Mark the corners as shown below, measuring 2″ from the edge. These marks create the sewing lines for the tucks. Now sew along the drawn lines and backstitch.
Trim off the corners using the zigzag rotary cutter.
Turn the pouch inside out and attach the tassel to the zipper pull.
 your zip pouch is finished!
