Fabric Lunch Sack Bag Pattern and Tutorial
Step1 : Cut out Fabric
• Cut 4 11 "x 19" rectangles, 2 from lining and 2 from main fabric
• Cut 2 10"x 7" rectangles out of main fabric for the outside pockets
• Cut 2 6"x8" rectangles out of lining fabric for the lining pockets
• Cut 1 2"x12" rectangle out of main fabric for wristlet
• Cut 2 1.5"x6" rectangles out of main fabric for velcro enclosure
Step 2: Sew Pockets, Enclosure and Wristlet
• Sew the pockets right sides together, leaving an opening on the short side (i left the opening on the outside pocket unsewn and will sew it shut when i assemble the bag)
• Cup corners and turn right side out, iron
• Fold the wristlet material in half, iron, then fold in raw edges and iron. Sew up the sides (final measurement will be .5"x12")
• Sew enclosure piece right sides together, rounding the corners and leaving an opening at one end.turn right side out, iron and topstitch.
Step 3: Sew Velcro
• Sew tacky velcro side on the enclosure piece
• Sew soft velcro side in the middle of the front pocket about 2" down from the top
Step 4: Sew Exterior
• Sew Exterior pocket on, center the pocket and match up the bottom of the outside piece to the bottom of the pocket.
• Sew on velcro enclosure, on the other piece of fasric, measure from the bottom 10.5 inches (and center) and sew into place
• Pin wristlet into place
• Sew right sides together (minus the opening, of course)
Step 5: Box up the Bottom
• Match up seams (side seam and bottom) and measure from the corner 2 inches, mark pin and sew (see photos)
• Do this on both corners
Step 6: Sew Lining
• Measure 4 inches from the bottom, pi n and sew the interior pocket on
• Sew right sides together (minus the opening, of course)
• Box up the corners for the lining (repeat step 5 for the lining)
Step 7: Pleats and Finish
• Turn lining right side out and exterior inside out
• Nest exterior inside the lining, pin and sew, leaving a 4 inch gap to turn everything right side in
• Turn it all right side in, iron and topstitch
• Measure 2 inches on either side of the seams and mark a 2 inch line
• Fold over, pin and stitch down 2 inches
• Repeat for all 4 sides
