Arrow Skirt Tutorial

Arrow Skirt Tutorial

When I started designing a skirt for the collection, I had this image of arrows going up and down.

The idea of using a neutral base color for the skirt, with a true color kick to give it character. The Simply Color line was perfect.

In order to achieve the look I used a jelly roll of fabric and sewed it together, then I simply cut the yardage on the bias so that I could create a lot of fun arrow-like or chevron pieces to use for embellishments. (A more thorough tutorial is below).

Set aside strips so that we can cut the skirt panels.

For an in depth skirt chart with approximate sizes ranging from 2T thru 17 yrs see this post from Project Run & Play.

Repeat this for front and back of the skirt, depending on your desired finished product.

The button embellishment is simply sewn directly onto the waistband at the side of the skirt for an extra touch.

And there you have it, the super cute and fun Arrow Skirt!
