How to make a felt flower. They are super easy to make and can be turned into brooches, hair bands or simply used to add a floral touch to your home decor.
Surprisingly easy to do, this pretty felt rose makes a stylish brooch. Very versatile, roses like this can also be used to adorn pillows or a handmade tote, strung together to make a garland, or turned into napkin holders.
You will need
Small Felt Flower Pattern
neon pink felt
hot glue gun
water erasable pen
How-to step by step
Step 1
Start by downloading the free pattern which you can download by clicking the link above in 'what you will need'. Transfer the pattern to card to make tracing easier.
Step 2
Transfer the templates onto the felt using a water soluble marker or a dressmaker's pencil; you will need five large rose pieces and three small rose pieces.
Step 3
Cut out the eight pieces.
Step 4
Fold one large rose piece into quarters
Step 5
Trim off the corner
Step 6
Place on top of another large rose piece, which will be the base. Position the folded piece with the trimmed corner at the center of the base, as shown. Hot glue gun in place.
Step 7
Fold a second large rose piece into quarters and place it on the base next to the first folded one, with the trimmed corner at the centre of the base as shown. Hot glue gun in place.
Step 8
Repeat for a third large piece.
Step 9
Add the remaining large rose piece to the base, so that you have four folded pieces arranged around the base piece, hot glue gun in place as before.
Step 10
Fold one of the small rose pieces into quarters and place on top of the large folded pieces. Hot glue gun in place.
Step 11
Fold the remaining small rose pieces into quarters and place them either side of the previous one. Hot glue gun in place
