Easy Making Zipper Bag Free Tutorial and Pattern. How to make a tote bag with lining.
PICTURE TUTORIAL FOR CURVED CORNER ZIP-GUSSET BAG.
What you need:
75cm exterior fabric (cotton, light weight furnishing fabric, cotton mix)
75cm metre lining fabric (cotton)
75cm medium fusible interfacing
75cm Firm Foam (or quilt batting eg. Vilene Thermolam)
55cm zip
2 x 22cm zips
Baseboard (I used Artist Grey Board)
1 pair of leather or faux leather handles.
Cutting out.
Cut each of the following in exterior fabric, lining fabric, fusible interfacing, and Firm Foam:
60cm x 5.5cm. Cut 2 for Zip gusset.
46cm x 10cm. Cut one for bottom gusset.
Cut 2 from the pattern for the front and back.
Also:
22cm x 13cm. Cut 2 in lining fabric for front zipped pocket. Cut one in fusible interfacing.
22cm x 13cm. Cut 2 in exterior or lining fabric for inside zipped pocket. Cut one in fusible
interfacing.
26cm x 14cm. Cut 2 in lining fabric for inside slip pockets.
Notes:
1cm seam allowance throughout.
If you’ve made bags before you will be able to follow this tutorial by the pictures.
Cut out all the fabric as above. Start by applying the fusible interfacing to the exterior pieces. Then apply the Firm Foam on top of the fusible interfacing. Secure with pins or 505 spray. Apply fusible interfacing to one pocket piece for the external pocket and the same for the internal pocket. Look through all the pictures before you start.
