Today's tutorial: these cute fabric boxes for storing little treasures.
The boxes measure 10.5x10.5x10.5x10.5cm and we need a variety of fabrics, thick foam to keep them stiff, and a good time with the needle.
Materials needed (measurements already include seam allowance)
6 pieces of fabrics of 12x12cm for the outside part of the bag
6 pieces of fabrics of 12x12cm for the inside of the bag
6 pieces of foam of 12x12cm
10 cm of mouse tail or string
1 button
Step by step
Cut the 12 pieces of fabric and the 6 pieces of foam needed and organize them in groups: outer fabric+foam+inner fabric.
Assemble the six sandwiches, placing the pieces in the following order: foam, inner fabric and outer fabric (the two fabrics should touch each other right to right). On the sandwich that is going to be the lid, we place the mouse tail loop.
Machine sew the six sandwiches all around, leaving an opening to turn the piece over.
We cut the corners, turn over, iron, close the opening with a hidden stitch and backstitch.
Now you have to place the pieces as shown in the first image to start forming the box.
We sew the pieces by the sides that touch each other in the image with a hidden stitch.
And now we form the box, sewing the sides indicated in the following image, also with a hidden stitch.
Finally, we sew on the button, and it should look something like this:
Would you like to make one...or a few?
